Note books are not like other notebooks. Oh, no. For starters, each one is hand made to order. Inspired by traditional Japanese stab binding techniques, every Note book is hand stitched…using strands of Mermaid’s hair, plucked at low tide off Barafundle Bay (that last bit isn’t true, but I’m trying to sell you something here).
All Note books have a hand made feel to them. That won’t be everybody’s cup of tea (unlike Alice’s)…they’re not perfect, machine made notebooks. They’re not printed on shiny, slick paper and they’re not stapled by a machine that looks like it could remove an arm. The heavy cartridge paper covers have a nice smooth feel to them…tactile. Each book is 6″ x 4″ (148mm x 105mm) has 35 sheets (70 pages) of plain white, 75 gsm recycled paper, so you can draw or sketch as well as write notes. Enough for anybody’s creative musings. Or shopping lists.
Conscious of our environmental responsibilities most of the paper we use is recycled and all is recyclable, including packaging. We use very little plastic – we have the occasional vinyl sticker and our wallets are manufactured from 50 – 95% recycled plastic. And we pay it forward by donating to JUST ONE TREE who grow and restore forests.
Our designs are (mostly) gathered into themes. So, if there is a particular subject you’re interested in, you’ll find a good selection to tickle your fancy.
No, in many ways they’re not like other notebooks. Where they are exactly like other notebooks is that you can write notes in them. And making notes is good. They free the mind.
